We Designed a Triathlon Suit & Raced It All the Way to the Ironman World Championship

It started small, a sprint triathlon, local roads, basic gear.
A pair of tri shorts and a cycling jersey. That was the early stage of Squadron Racing. Just athletes, figuring it out one race at a time. Those first races weren’t about perfection; they were about starting something.

We didn’t know it then, but those early finish lines would shape the foundation of what Squadron Racing would become. A mission to create gear built by athletes, tested through racing, and refined through real experience.

The Early Designs

The first step was simple. Make our own triathlon suit. A prototype to race in.

We raced it through sprints, Olympics, and half Ironmans. Taking notes on everything that could be improved. Fabric placement, pocket design, ventilation, compression. Every race was feedback for the next version.

We wanted a suit that felt fast but stayed comfortable for long hours. One that could handle the demands of a full Ironman, not just look the part.

Building for Comfort and Speed

Through countless iterations, the concept became clear.
Performance doesn’t come from a single fabric, it comes from how materials work together.

Five different fabrics, each with a specific role.
Stretch where movement matters, tight where aerodynamics count, and breathable panels placed where cooling is needed. The rest is built strong and resistant, not fragile.

You want comfort. You want performance.
You achieve that balance through design. By understanding how every panel contributes to the ride, the run, and the overall endurance of the race.

The Squadron Look

Our signature checkered sleeve design stayed from day on, a mark of speed, heritage, and identity.

The deep black base with a contrasting blue logo tied the brand together. A window-style front torso added function for long-course races, and back pockets provided the right amount of storage for fuel on the bike and run.

Each version carried more detail, more refinement, and more purpose. From short-course races to the longest days in the sport.

From Prototype to Championship

The final version was ready for its biggest test. IRONMAN Texas.
In that suit, Squadron Racing crossed the finish line with a World Championship qualifying time. It proved what we set out to do: create a triathlon suit that could go the distance, performing on the world stage.

Months later, that same suit lined up in Nice, France, at the IRONMAN World Championship.
Designed in Texas, raced across the Côte d’Azur.
The culmination of thousands of training miles, one small idea, and a belief that we could make something truly world-class.

The Mission Continues

We built a tri suit that carried our mission. Comfort, performance, and durability,  and raced it all the way to the top level of the sport.

From that first sprint triathlon to the World Championship stage, it’s been about one thing: inspiring more people to take on the challenge of racing.
