Why a Running Hat Matters on Race Day

In long-course racing, every piece of gear serves a purpose. Especially on the run. A running hat protects you from the sun, keeps sweat out of your eyes, helps cool your head, and on brutally hot days can even hold ice to manage body temperature.

For many training sessions and hard race days, the hat becomes an essential part of the kit.

In our toughest races, we trained and raced in BOCO Gear running hats. Lightweight, breathable, comfortable, and long-lasting. They held up through full Ironman training seasons and race days.

The design was inspired by our hardest Ironman events yet. Ironman Texas and the Ironman World Championship.

High heat and exposed courses made it clear how vital high-quality headwear is on race day. In those moments, small details mattered. Breathability, fit, and cooling ability became non-negotiable.
