Built Through the Hardest Training
The Squadron Racing hats are finally here.
For us, the hat is the final piece of crucial race gear, something that comes with us on every training run and every race day.
To make this hat, we first had to go through some harsh training.
Peak summer heat in Austin, Texas. Long swims followed by long runs. Fifteen to twenty mile runs in temperatures climbing into the 90–100° range. In those conditions, the smallest details begin to matter.
Electrolytes early in the morning.
Ventilated shoes.
Lightweight fabrics that breathe in the heat.
Three hours into a run in the middle of Ironman season, you quickly learn what good gear feels like.

Race Tested at the Ironman World Championship
When race day finally arrived, the Ironman World Championship in Nice, France. We confirmed that we were racing in great gear.
From the triathlon suits in the ocean swim, to the long ride into the French Alps, to the hot 26-mile run along the Promenade des Anglais, every piece of gear mattered.
But one piece of the lineup was still missing.
The hat.

Designed with BOCO Gear
We knew one thing: Ironman athletes race in BOCO Gear hats.
They’re lightweight, breathable, and built for the harsh conditions of long-course racing. That’s the technology we wanted behind the Squadron Racing hat.
So we partnered with BOCO Gear, chose the features and fabrics we trusted most, and had them build our first Squadron Racing running hat.
The same style we raced in at Ironman Texas and the Ironman World Championship, now representing our brand and our mission.

Built for Heat, Sweat, and Long Miles
These hats are built for real racing conditions.
They’re lightweight, breathable, and designed to dry quickly as sweat builds during long efforts.
During hot races, they also serve another purpose. On the run course, it’s common to grab handfuls of ice at aid stations and drop them inside the cap. As the ice melts, the water slowly drips down into the suit, helping cool the body while the fabric dries again as the miles continue.
When you’re racing 26 miles after a long swim and bike ride, that kind of cooling matters.
Just as important, the hat stays comfortable.
The last thing you want on race day is a rock in your shoe. The next is uncomfortable gear. When the distance starts to hurt, the best equipment is the gear you stop thinking about.
That’s exactly what this hat is designed to do.

Built for Training Seasons
Race days are messy.
Salt, sweat, gels, sports drink, everything eventually ends up on your gear.
This isn’t a hat that looks good once and then fades away. These hats are built to survive the toughest training seasons and still look picture ready on race day.
High-quality materials.
Laser-cut ventilation.
Carefully stitched construction.
They’re made to last.

The First Squadron Racing Hat Release
For our first release, we chose two colorways:

Built for the Journey
For us, the path here has been hard fought.
We train as hard as possible to race at the highest level possible. Behind every race is an enormous amount of unseen work, training, fueling, recovery, nutrition, and the miles that stack up week after week in the heat.
That’s the path to the big finish lines.
This hat represents that journey.
Built from the ground up.
